WordPress comments specifics

When visitors leave comments, we collect the data shown in the form, the visitor’s IP address, and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string from your email may be sent to Gravatar to check if you use it. After approval, your profile picture is visible with your comment.

Sharing and processors

We don’t sell your personal information. We share it with service providers who help us operate our business, for example:

  • Skool for community hosting and paid tiers
  • Email & CRM such as Uplevel/GoHighLevel and LeadsLeap
  • WordPress plugins for forms, security, spam protection
  • Payment processors such as Stripe via Skool
  • Analytics and pixels like Google Analytics and Meta Pixel
  • E-commerce partners like Amazon for book purchases, ThriveCart for future checkouts

We require processors to use data only to provide their services to us and to protect it appropriately.

Cookies and tracking

Our site and services use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember preferences, measure performance, and personalize content.

WordPress cookie specifics

If you leave a comment, you can opt in to saving your name, email, and site in cookies for one year. If you visit the login page, we set a temporary cookie to check if your browser accepts cookies. Login cookies last two days, screen options cookies last one year, and “Remember Me” keeps you logged in for two weeks. If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie stores the post ID for one day.

Analytics and advertising

We may use analytics and advertising tools to understand site usage and improve our content and offers. These tools may set their own cookies and collect IP address and device data. Typical tools include Google Analytics and Meta Pixel. You can:

Payments and memberships (Skool, Amazon, ThriveCart)

  • Skool: If you purchase a paid tier, Skool processes your payment and manages your subscription. We receive limited info about your membership and status, not full card data.
  • Amazon: If you buy a paperback or Kindle edition on Amazon, that purchase is governed by Amazon’s terms and privacy policy.
  • ThriveCart (future): If we offer checkouts through ThriveCart, your payment will be processed by their connected processor (e.g., Stripe/PayPal). We don’t store full card numbers on our site.

Email communications

If you opt in, we may send tips, updates, or offers. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. Transactional or account emails may still be sent when necessary.

Data retention

  • Comments and their metadata are kept so we can recognize and approve follow-ups
  • Account data is retained while your account is active and as required by law
  • Support emails are kept for reference and compliance

Your rights

Your rights depend on your location, but may include:

  • Access a copy of your personal information
  • Correct or delete information
